GB1CODY

The special call GB1CODY was allocated to FDRS to celebrate the centenary of the first powered flight in the UK, made in Farnborough by Mr S.F.Cody on 16 October 1908.

The station was operational on a daily basis from the 13th until 19th October 2008 at the Aldershot Military Museum. 620 contacts were made with a total of 68 countries.

A special QSL card was sent out to those we contacted giving publicity to the club and to the Museum

Our thanks go to the Aldershot Military Museum for hosting the event.  Also many thanks to all those who organised the event and operated the station.
