Hernia Cup 2016

Hernia Cup 26 Oct 2016 - The best ever?

The Hernia Cup is an annual quiz between radio clubs which was won that by the Farnborough and District Radio Society in 2014 and 2015. The winners hold the famous cup for a year and have the honour of  hosting the next competition.

Our club room was packed to capacity for this year's Hernia Cup competition with 45 people attending.

7 clubs took part, the Bracknell, Basingstoke, Farnborough, Guildford, Horndean, Horsham and Wey Valley Amateur Radio Clubs.

A hugely enjoyable time was had by all, with a total of 75 questions to be answered on general knowledge, science and amateur radio.

Bracknell and Wey Valley Clubs had the highest scores both with 54 correct answers.

The winner was determined by a tiebreak of 10 additional questions.  Brackell won by this with 9 correct answers to 6

Well done the Bracknell Amateur Radio Club for winning the intensely fought competition.

FDRS will be at your meeting place next year to try to win the cup back!

Thanks to all the clubs that attended.

Congratulations to all those involved in organising of the event  and special thanks goes to those who provided the excellent buffet.
