The Hernia Cup is an annual quiz between radio clubs
which was won that by the Farnborough
and District Radio Society in 2014 and 2015. The winners hold the
famous cup for a year and have the honour of hosting the next
Our club room was packed to
capacity for this year's Hernia Cup competition with 45 people attending.
7 clubs took part, the Bracknell, Basingstoke, Farnborough, Guildford, Horndean,
Horsham and Wey Valley Amateur Radio Clubs.
A hugely enjoyable time was had
by all, with a total of 75 questions to be answered on general knowledge, science and amateur radio.
Bracknell and Wey Valley Clubs had the
highest scores both with 54 correct answers.
The winner was determined by a
tiebreak of 10 additional questions. Brackell won by this with 9 correct
answers to 6
Well done the Bracknell Amateur
Radio Club for winning the intensely fought competition.
FDRS will be at your meeting
place next year to try to win the cup back!
